The Supreme Court on Thursday (June 25) allowed Bollywood actor Jacqueline Fernandez to withdraw her plea challenging a Delhi court order directing the framing of charges against her in the ₹200 crore money laundering case.
"Counsel for the petitioner (Fernandez) has sought permission to withdraw this special leave petition with liberty to avail of an appropriate remedy in accordance with law," a bench of Justices B V Nagarathna and Joymalya Bagchi said.
The top court permitted the withdrawal of the petition, granting the liberty sought by the petitioner.
On May 30, a Delhi court ordered the framing of charges against Fernandez, alleged conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar and 15 others in the case.
The actor had subsequently approached the Supreme Court challenging the order.
