What is the story about?
Grammy-nominated chant artist Krishna Das will return to India this October and November for a five-city tour, following a run of sold-out shows during his previous visit to the country. The tour is being produced and presented by Team Innovation Cultural.
The run opens in New Delhi on October 23, before moving to Mumbai on October 25, Pune on October 30, Ahmedabad on November 1, and closing with a finale in Bengaluru on November 4, 2026. Each stop will feature a 2.5-hour kirtan performance built around traditional call-and-response chanting of Sanskrit mantras, with minimal spoken commentary between songs so as to preserve a continuous meditative flow. Organisers say the shows require no prior spiritual background or experience, and are built instead around the communal experience of collective singing.

Krishna Das, born Jeffrey Kagel on Long Island, New York, is widely credited with bringing sacred Sanskrit chanting into the global mainstream and has been described by The New York Times as the "chant master of American Yoga." He left a budding rock career in 1970 to travel to India, where he became a disciple of spiritual teacher Neem Karoli Baba, an encounter that reshaped the course of his life.
Over a multi-decade career, he has worked with artists including Sting, Walter Becker of Steely Dan, and producer Rick Rubin, earned a Grammy nomination for his live album 'Live Ananda', written the bestselling memoir 'Chants of a Lifetime', and was profiled in the documentary 'One Track Heart'. He also hosts a dedicated channel, Krishna Das Yoga Radio, on SiriusXM.
