This initiative, led by KSCA President Venkatesh Prasad, saw the association officially rename two prominent stands within the stadium in honour of these legends. The decision reflects a deep appreciation for their unparalleled impact not only on the broader landscape of Indian cricket but also on the cricketing heritage of Karnataka itself. The event underscored the stadium's rich history and its role in shaping the careers of iconic players, making the honouring of Kumble and Dravid a fitting tribute to their enduring legacies.

Both Anil Kumble and Rahul Dravid expressed profound gratitude and emotion upon receiving the honour. Kumble, reflecting on his childhood memories of visiting the stadium at just nine years old, described the moment as exceptionally special and emotional, seeing his name emblazoned on a pavilion. He eloquently linked the stadium's 50-year journey to the expansive growth of Indian cricket, acknowledging the vital support structures provided by the BCCI that foster dreams nationwide. Dravid, who considers the M Chinnaswamy Stadium a second home, having spent more time there than arguably at his own residence, spoke of the ground as a crucible that shaped his career, a place of both exhilarating highs and challenging lows. He conveyed his deep thankfulness to the KSCA and the stadium for their immense role in his life and career, emphasizing the significance of having an end named after him.

Anil Kumble stands as India's all-time leading wicket-taker, a testament to his bowling prowess, having claimed an astounding 619 wickets in Test matches and 337 in One Day Internationals, bringing his international career tally to an impressive 953 wickets. On the batting front, Rahul Dravid occupies a distinguished position in Indian cricket history, ranking as the third-highest run-scorer across all formats, trailing only Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli. Over his illustrious career, Dravid amassed a formidable 24,064 runs in 504 matches, including 48 centuries and 145 half-centuries.
