Expanded Battery Capacity
The electric scooter segment sees an exciting addition with the return of the TVS iQube S, now boasting a significantly larger 4.7kWh battery. This substantial
upgrade replaces the previous model's 3.5kWh unit, directly translating into a more extensive riding range. Manufacturers claim an impressive 175 kilometers on a single charge under IDC (Indian Driving Conditions) standards. This increase in battery capacity does, however, lead to a slight increase in the scooter's overall weight, bringing it to 128.8kg. While heavier than the base 3.5kWh iQube variant (119.1kg), it remains more manageable than the top-tier iQube ST which weighs in at 132kg.
Performance and Charging
Beneath its updated battery, the core performance of the iQube S remains consistent. The electric motor continues to deliver a peak output of 4.4kW, enabling the scooter to achieve a brisk acceleration from 0 to 40 kilometers per hour in just 4.3 seconds. Its top speed is rated at 82 kilometers per hour. A notable improvement has been made in charging speed; the new 4.7kWh battery can be replenished from empty to 80 percent in approximately 4 hours. This charging duration is more efficient compared to the smaller battery variants within the iQube family, including those with 3.1kWh and 3.5kWh capacities, making it more convenient for daily use.
Aesthetic Enhancements
Beyond its enhanced electrical capabilities, the relaunched iQube S also introduces some fresh visual appeal. Consumers can now choose from two new attractive color schemes: 'Magnificence Purple Beige' and 'Harlequin Blue Beige'. These sophisticated dual-tone options join the existing 'Titanium Grey Matte' shade, offering riders more personalization choices. These cosmetic updates complement the scooter's functional improvements, providing a more appealing package for potential buyers looking for a blend of extended range, performance, and style in their electric commuting solution.
Line-up Overview
The latest iteration places the iQube S with its 4.7kWh battery as a compelling mid-tier option within the brand's electric scooter portfolio. The broader TVS iQube range now presents a comprehensive selection to cater to diverse rider needs and preferences. At the entry level, there is the base iQube, which is versatile and offers battery choices of 2.2kWh, 3.1kWh, and 3.5kWh. Positioned above the newly updated iQube S, the iQube ST sits at the apex, featuring the largest 5.3kWh battery pack, promising the longest possible range for those who prioritize maximum distance on a single charge.
