Enhanced Seating Choices
Kia has significantly broadened the appeal of the Carens Clavis EV by introducing a sought-after 6-seat configuration. Previously, this electric MPV was
exclusively available as a 7-seater, mirroring the ICE version's limitation. However, this update rectifies that by offering a second row equipped with plush captain seats. This new seating arrangement is now accessible across a variety of trims, including the HTX (E), HTX, HTX+, GTX, GTX+, and the new X-Line variants. For those who still prefer the original setup, the traditional 7-seat layout remains an option, particularly in the top-tier GTX, GTX+, and X-Line models, ensuring that a wide spectrum of family needs and preferences are catered to with this flexible approach to cabin design and passenger comfort.
New Styling Trims
Adding a fresh aesthetic dimension, Kia has unveiled the new GT-Line and X-Line trims for the Carens Clavis EV. The GT-Line variants, specifically the GTX and GTX+ models, boast distinctive visual enhancements designed to give the MPV a sportier and more dynamic appearance. These include a revised alloy wheel design that catches the eye, vibrant lime-finished brake calipers adding a pop of color, and stylish metal pedals inside the cabin. Complementing these, the X-Line Extended Range variant receives a more understated yet sophisticated makeover, featuring darker exterior accents. These elements are finished in shades like Dark Gun Metal and Aurora Black Pearl, lending the vehicle a more commanding and premium presence on the road. These styling updates are designed to offer buyers more personalized choices, allowing them to select a Carens Clavis EV that aligns with their individual tastes and preferences.
Updated Features & Pricing
Beyond the aesthetic and layout changes, the updated Kia Carens Clavis EV incorporates several new technological features and refined pricing. Higher-end variants, specifically the GTX+ and X-Line, now benefit from advanced additions such as a Digital Key, offering enhanced convenience and security for vehicle access, and a battery heater technology, which is particularly beneficial for maintaining optimal battery performance in colder climates. Furthermore, the standard range models have been upgraded with new 16-inch black high-gloss aero alloy wheels, contributing to both style and aerodynamic efficiency. It's important to note that both the GT-Line and X-Line trims come with a price increment of Rs 50,000 over the variants they are based upon, with the GTX derived from the HTX 51.4 kWh and the GTX+ and X-Line based on the HTX+ 51.4 kWh trim. The overall pricing for the updated Carens Clavis EV now spans from Rs 17.99 lakh to Rs 24.99 lakh (ex-showroom), reflecting the enhancements and expanded options available.
Powertrain and Range
Fundamentally, the powertrain and battery options for the Kia Carens Clavis EV remain unchanged, ensuring a familiar and reliable performance for drivers. The electric MPV continues to be offered with two distinct battery pack capacities: a 42 kWh standard range option and a larger 51.4 kWh extended range option. The standard range battery provides a manufacturer-claimed driving distance of over 404 km, while the extended range battery pushes this figure to an impressive 490 km on a single charge. In real-world driving conditions, owners can anticipate a range of approximately 380 km. The electric motor's output varies depending on the battery selected; it delivers 133 bhp when paired with the smaller 42 kWh battery and a more potent 169 bhp with the larger 51.4 kWh pack. Across both configurations, the torque output remains consistent at 255 Nm, ensuring brisk acceleration and responsive driving dynamics.
