Seamless Parking Reservations
Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Airport has launched an innovative 'Park and Fly' service, fundamentally changing how travellers approach airport
parking. This new facility empowers passengers to secure their parking spots in advance through the airport's official website, catering to a wide array of vehicles, from compact cars and motorcycles to larger buses and coaches. Upon successful completion of a booking, individuals receive a confirmation email. This digital confirmation serves as their pass for seamless entry into designated parking areas, specifically zones E-9 and E-10. This proactive approach is a direct response to the escalating demand for parking, particularly during busy travel seasons. A key advantage of this system is its flexibility; unlike conventional methods that often demand upfront payment, 'Park and Fly' allows users to settle their parking fees only upon exiting the facility, significantly enhancing convenience and reducing pre-flight administrative burdens.
Ideal for Short Stays
Airport officials have highlighted that this 'Park and Fly' service is particularly advantageous for travellers embarking on short journeys to neighbouring cities like Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, and Rajahmundry. By reserving a parking space ahead of time, passengers can effectively bypass potential last-minute delays and ensure a more streamlined and punctual departure. This pre-arrangement capability minimizes the stress associated with finding available parking upon arrival, allowing travellers to focus on their onward journey rather than parking logistics. The convenience offered is substantial, especially for those making quick business trips or weekend getaways, where time is a critical factor. This service directly addresses the need for efficient and predictable parking solutions for short-duration travellers, contributing to an overall improved airport experience.
Parking Tariff Structure
The airport has established a clearly defined tariff structure for both short-term and extended parking durations, ensuring transparency for all users. For four-wheeler vehicles, the charges commence at Rs 150 for the initial 30 minutes, with a daily maximum fee capped at Rs 750. For two-wheelers, the pricing begins at Rs 40 for the first hour, extending to a maximum of Rs 250 for a full 24-hour period. Complementing the standard parking options, a valet parking service is also available at separate rates. This premium service is priced from Rs 300 for up to 30 minutes and goes up to Rs 900 for a full day's usage, offering an enhanced level of convenience. Furthermore, dedicated tariff plans have been meticulously designed for commercial vehicles and larger transport options, including buses and coaches, ensuring that all types of vehicles are accommodated with appropriate pricing.
Booking and Access Rules
To utilize the 'Park and Fly' service, travellers are required to make their parking reservations at least six hours prior to their scheduled arrival at the airport. Each confirmed booking maintains its validity for a 24-hour window, commencing from the selected check-in time, which provides a degree of flexibility for travellers whose plans might slightly fluctuate. In scenarios where the primary designated parking zones are completely occupied upon a traveller's arrival, vehicles will be thoughtfully directed to other available parking areas within the airport premises. This contingency measure ensures that access to parking remains uninterrupted, irrespective of peak demand. The introduction of this service is part of a broader strategy by RGIA to significantly enhance passenger convenience and to proactively reduce congestion at the airport's entry points, aiming for a more efficient and modernized airport operation.
