California-based specialists have embarked on an exciting new venture, presenting their first-ever open-top air-cooled 911 restoration project: the Carrera
Cabriolet Reimagined. This endeavor involves taking a customer's Type 964 Cabriolet, meticulously stripping it down to its bare metal, and then reinforcing the chassis to ensure exceptional rigidity. The company's signature precision engineering is applied throughout the rebuilding process, with a clear objective: to create a manual, naturally aspirated 911 that offers an exhilarating open-roof driving sensation combined with unwavering mechanical robustness. Singer intends to produce a strictly limited run of just 75 of these special Cabriolets, with each vehicle subjected to exhaustive testing at renowned proving grounds, including Millbrook and the Nurburgring, prior to being delivered to its owner. This rigorous evaluation process guarantees that every single car adheres to the company's exceptionally high performance and durability benchmarks.
Iconic Silhouette, Modern Build
The exterior design of this reimagined convertible unmistakably evokes the flared, wide-body Carrera Cabriolets that were popular in the 1980s, yet its construction utilizes thoroughly contemporary techniques. Lightweight yet incredibly strong carbon-fibre panels have replaced traditional steel, contributing to the car's purposeful stance and dramatically widened wheel arches. Functional design elements include strategically placed cooling intakes just ahead of the rear wheels and a deep front spoiler engineered to optimize airflow. The vehicle is fitted with 18-inch centre-lock wheels that artfully mimic the styling of the period, but are equipped with modern tyre and braking systems for enhanced performance and safety.
