The company responsible for food provision on the affected Vande Bharat Express faced the immediate termination of its contract. Furthermore, a substantial financial penalty of Rs 50 Lakh was levied against the caterer for the lapse in food safety standards. Adding to these repercussions, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) was also fined Rs 10 Lakh, underscoring the seriousness with which the railways are treating this food quality failure on one of its premier services.
