Price Hike Incoming
JSW MG Motor India is set to implement a price hike of up to 2% across its entire range of vehicles, with the changes commencing on January 1, 2026. This
decision reflects the growing pressure of rising input costs and broader macroeconomic factors affecting the automotive industry. The company's actions echo similar moves by other manufacturers, such as Mercedes-Benz and BYD, who have also confirmed price increases for the new year. This indicates a wider trend of increasing costs within the automotive sector, affecting both new and existing models available in the market. The extent of the price changes will vary depending on the specific model and variant.
Impacted Models
The price adjustments will affect several of MG's popular models. For instance, the Windsor EV, the brand's best-selling electric vehicle, is expected to see a price increase of roughly ₹30,000 to ₹37,000. This could push its ex-showroom prices to between ₹14.27 lakh and ₹18.76 lakh. The Comet EV, the brand's most affordable offering, may also become dearer, with a potential increase of ₹10,000 to ₹20,000, setting its price range to ₹7.64 lakh - ₹10.19 lakh (ex-showroom). The price hike will therefore affect a range of consumers who are in the market for either electric or ICE-powered vehicles.
Year-End Discounts
In December 2025, JSW MG Motor India is offering year-end benefits across both its electric and ICE vehicle portfolios. These offers include considerable discounts on select models. In the EV range, the MG ZS EV is available with benefits up to ₹1.25 lakh, while the Comet EV comes with offers valued up to ₹1 lakh. The Windsor EV, one of the newer electric models, is also included in this campaign, featuring benefits of up to ₹50,000. These promotions are part of a broader strategy by the company to boost sales during the year-end period, aiming to attract customers with attractive incentives on various models.
