Retro-Modern Aesthetic
The interior of the Ferrari Luce EV presents a captivating fusion, drawing inspiration from classic automotive design while embracing contemporary advancements.
Collaborating with LoveFrom, a firm established by Apple's former design chief Jon Ive, the cabin achieves a sophisticated retro-inspired layout. This approach ensures a familiar yet fresh feel, marrying the iconic character of vintage sports cars with the sleekness and functionality expected of a modern electric vehicle. The overall design philosophy emphasizes a driver-focused environment, where every element is thoughtfully placed to enhance the connection between the driver and the machine, creating an immersive and engaging atmosphere.
Driver's Digital Hub
Central to the driver's experience is a 12.5-inch OLED instrument panel that artfully integrates a trio of embedded semi-analogue dials. This display provides all essential driving information with exceptional clarity and visual appeal, mimicking the tactile feel of traditional gauges. The steering wheel, a three-spoke marvel with a deliberately thin grip, evokes the spirit of classic Ferrari models. This iconic shape is adorned with an array of physical controls strategically placed on both the left and right banks. These buttons offer intuitive access to critical functions, including turn indicators, various drive and traction modes, suspension adjustments for uneven terrain, and cruise control settings, ensuring the driver's hands remain on the wheel while managing the car's performance.
Intuitive Touchscreen Interface
A distinct 10-inch square touchscreen unit serves as the primary infotainment and control hub, thoughtfully positioned for easy interaction. This display features a practical grab handle, allowing for precise adjustment of its angle to minimize glare and optimize visibility. Within the touchscreen's interface, a subtle clock element in the upper right corner can transform into a useful compass or a dedicated lap timer for track enthusiasts. Below this, a series of physical toggles manage media playback and climate control settings, offering a tactile counterpoint to the touchscreen's digital interactions, thereby providing a balanced and user-friendly control experience.
Innovative Centre Console
The centre console of the Luce EV adopts a distinctive floating design, contributing to the cabin's airy and modern feel. A key feature is a dedicated recess designed to accept the car's digital key for ignition. Upon insertion, the key's vibrant yellow hue transforms to a sophisticated black, signaling the vehicle's readiness. Subsequently, the drive selector illuminates in a warm yellow, indicating the car is prepared to be driven. Further enhancing functionality, the window control switches are also conveniently located on this elegantly designed centre console, consolidating essential controls within easy reach.
Overhead Control Panel
Adding a touch of aviation-inspired sophistication, an overhead control panel houses several unique functions. A helicopter-style handle can be pulled to instantly activate the car's launch control system, delivering maximum acceleration from a standstill. This area also incorporates controls for the exterior lighting, allowing for quick adjustments to headlights and other illumination features. This thoughtful placement of specific controls provides a sense of engagement and command, further elevating the driving experience.
Dashboard and Seating Details
The dashboard itself features subtle yet distinctive styling cues, including a charming retro typeface used for the 'Luce' logo. The air conditioning vents are designed with a simple, elegant circular motif, maintaining the interior's clean aesthetic. Complementing the overall design, the sports seats are upholstered in luxurious tan leather, providing both comfort and a premium feel. The iconic Ferrari logo is elegantly embossed on the headrests, reinforcing the marque's heritage and the car's performance pedigree, creating a cohesive and sophisticated cabin environment.
