Rugged Exterior Redesign
The upcoming SUV sports a completely reimagined exterior, retaining its signature rugged appeal while incorporating contemporary design cues. Up front,
distinctive eyebrow-like LED daytime running lights double as turn signals, creating a unique visual signature. The grille has been updated with prominent lettering, and silver accents on the bumper subtly nod to the design of its first-generation predecessor. Additionally, the front fascia is enhanced with pixel-style fog lamps, contributing to its robust and modern aesthetic. This refreshed styling aims to capture attention and signify a bold new direction for the vehicle.
Tech-Infused Cabin
Inside, the cabin has undergone a significant transformation, focusing on a more premium and technologically advanced experience. A new three-spoke steering wheel, accented with Piano Black finishes, greets the driver. The dashboard features a modern dual-screen setup, and ambient lighting creates a sophisticated atmosphere. Decorative elements like faux carbon-fibre inserts add a touch of sportiness. Practical enhancements such as multiple Type-C charging ports, an electronic parking brake with an auto-hold function, and a panoramic sunroof are included to boost everyday convenience and passenger comfort.
Comprehensive Feature Set
This new SUV is loaded with features designed to elevate both convenience and safety. A 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system forms the centerpiece, offering seamless wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Complementing this is a 7-inch digital instrument cluster that runs on Google OS. Further enhancing the occupant experience are dual-zone climate control, front seats offering six-way power adjustment and ventilation, a wireless charging pad, and a powered tailgate. Additional amenities include a dual-tone interior theme, an adjustable front armrest, and 60:40 split rear seats for added versatility.
Advanced Safety Suite
Safety remains a paramount concern, and this vehicle is equipped with a robust package to provide peace of mind. Standard safety features include a total of six airbags strategically placed for occupant protection. A significant advancement is the inclusion of Level 2 Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS), offering features like adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, and automatic emergency braking, among others. An Arkamys audio system is also integrated, ensuring a high-quality sound experience for all passengers.
Diverse Powertrain Options
Potential buyers will have a choice of several powertrain configurations to suit their driving needs. The most powerful option is an E-Tech 160 hybrid setup, combining a 1.8-litre four-cylinder direct-injection petrol engine with two electric motors to deliver a combined output of 160 bhp and 172 Nm of torque. For those preferring traditional internal combustion, a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine (Turbo TCe 160) is available, also producing 160 bhp but with a higher 280 Nm of torque. This option can be paired with either a six-speed manual transmission or a dual-clutch automatic gearbox. An entry-level choice features a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, producing 100 bhp and 160 Nm, exclusively mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
Booking and Delivery Timeline
Pre-bookings for the new SUV are officially open, with a modest token amount of Rs 21,000 required to secure a reservation. Deliveries for the turbo-petrol variants are expected to commence shortly after the official launch. The more advanced hybrid versions are slated for a later release, anticipated to be available towards the end of the year, coinciding with the festive Diwali season. This phased delivery approach allows for a staggered market entry and caters to different customer preferences.
