Expressway Blueprint Unveiled
A significant infrastructure leap is on the horizon for the National Capital Region (NCR) with the approval of a new, cutting-edge six-lane greenfield
expressway. This ambitious project, spearheaded by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), aims to bridge the distance between Delhi-Faridabad-Ballabhgarh-Sohna and the burgeoning Noida International Airport. Encompassing a total length of approximately 31.42 kilometers, this vital corridor will weave its way through diverse terrains, with roughly 22 to 24 kilometers traversing Haryana and an estimated 7 to 9 kilometers within Uttar Pradesh. The projected completion date for this transformative link is set for April 2027, though early access to certain segments may become available sooner as construction gains momentum. This development is poised to dramatically reduce transit durations, allowing residents from South Delhi, Faridabad, and Gurugram to reach the airport in an astonishingly short span of 15 to 20 minutes, thereby unlocking substantial potential for business, trade, and logistics across the entire region.
Construction Milestones Achieved
Progress on the Faridabad-Noida Airport expressway is advancing at an impressive pace, with significant construction milestones already reached. The NHAI has erected approximately 1,200 pillars, forming the foundational structure for this elevated artery. Concurrently, efforts are underway to install girders across the Yamuna River, a critical step in supporting the elevated portions of the expressway. The project includes a notable 11-kilometer elevated highway segment, designed to create a seamless connection between the DND-Ballabhgarh bypass and Noida International Airport. This strategic integration ensures high-speed access to the airport and bolsters the overall logistics network. Furthermore, the expressway will integrate with key national transportation arteries such as the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, Yamuna Expressway, and the Dedicated Freight Corridor, creating a robust multimodal transport system for enhanced regional efficiency.
Economic & Regional Impact
Beyond drastically reducing travel times, this new expressway is expected to be a catalyst for widespread economic growth and urban development. The corridor's path will pass through 18 villages spanning both Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, including specific locations like Shahpur, Sotai, Chandawali, Bahbalpur, Fafunda, Panhera Khurd, Narhawali, Mehmadpur, Heerapur, Mohana, Kalan, and Baghpur in Haryana, and Jhupa, Phalaida Bangar, Amarpur, Karauli Bangar, Vallabhnagar, and Dayanatpur in Uttar Pradesh. This widespread reach is anticipated to stimulate real estate appreciation and foster increased commercial activity in these vicinities. The elevated section alone carries an estimated cost of Rs 689.24 crore, with the Haryana government contributing Rs 450 crore towards this component. This infrastructural enhancement aligns perfectly with the Faridabad Master Plan 2031, supporting high-density urban development and future projects, thereby fortifying the region's long-term prospects for growth and enhanced connectivity.
