Unprecedented Driving Range
The latest iteration of the premier electric sedan has dramatically enhanced its long-distance capabilities, setting a new benchmark for EVs. Its most
impressive feat is a claimed WLTP driving range of up to a remarkable 926 kilometers on a full charge, making extended journeys significantly more feasible without frequent stops. Different configurations of this model also offer substantial ranges, with variants providing up to 817 kilometers and others reaching up to 876 kilometers. This leap in range is largely attributable to an advanced 800V electrical architecture and the integration of a new, larger 122kWh battery pack, alongside an existing 112kWh option. These elements work in harmony to boost overall efficiency and extend the distance one can travel between charges, thereby reducing range anxiety for drivers.
Lightning-Fast Charging
Beyond its exceptional driving range, this electric sedan introduces a revolutionary approach to recharging. It now supports DC fast charging at an impressive rate of up to 350kW. This allows for an astonishing addition of up to 320 kilometers of driving range in a mere 10 minutes, a speed that drastically minimizes downtime and makes long trips far more convenient. Furthermore, the vehicle introduces bidirectional charging capabilities, a significant technological advancement that transforms the car into a mobile power source. This means it can supply electricity back to a home or even contribute to the power grid, adding a new layer of utility and sustainability to electric vehicle ownership and charging infrastructure.
Powertrain Enhancements
Significant engineering improvements have been made to the vehicle's powertrain, focusing on both performance and energy efficiency. A key innovation is the addition of a two-speed transmission integrated into the rear axle. This intelligent design utilizes the first gear for rapid acceleration from a standstill, providing a more dynamic driving experience. Subsequently, the second gear engages at higher speeds to optimize efficiency, contributing to the extended overall range. Complementing these improvements, regenerative braking has been boosted by a substantial 33 percent, now capable of recuperating up to 385kW of energy. This enhanced regenerative system more effectively captures kinetic energy during deceleration and braking, converting it back into electrical energy to recharge the battery, further augmenting the car's efficiency and range.
Refined Exterior Styling
The exterior design of this electric sedan retains its signature sleek profile while incorporating subtle yet impactful aesthetic updates. The front fascia now features a striking illuminated Mercedes star, enhancing its premium appeal. The grille has been redesigned with an elegant star pattern, contributing to a more sophisticated look. The headlamps have also been upgraded with advanced technology, capable of projecting light up to an impressive 600 meters, significantly improving nighttime visibility and safety. At the rear, updated lighting elements and a revised bumper complete the refreshed appearance, maintaining a cohesive and modern design language that signifies its status as a flagship vehicle.
Luxurious Interior Tech
Stepping inside, the cabin continues to impress with the expansive MBUX Hyperscreen, a seamless glass panel integrating three distinct displays for an immersive digital experience. This system now operates on the new MB.OS software, which is designed to support over-the-air updates, ensuring the car's systems remain current. A sophisticated new virtual assistant, powered by AI, has been integrated to enhance user interaction and control. For those seeking an alternative driving feel, an optional yoke-style steering wheel will be available post-launch, complemented by steer-by-wire technology. Rear passengers are not left out, with two 13.1-inch screens dedicated to entertainment and control functions, elevating the comfort and convenience for all occupants.
