Enhanced Rail Connectivity
Ranchi, the vibrant capital of Jharkhand, is celebrating a significant enhancement in its railway network with the introduction of a new direct weekly
train service. This crucial addition aims to streamline travel for residents by establishing a seamless connection to three major destinations: the sacred city of Ayodhya, the prominent educational and medical center of Lucknow, and the bustling national capital, Delhi. This initiative significantly reduces the inconvenience of multiple train changes, a common hurdle for long-distance travelers previously. The service, expected to be flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Kolkata on March 14th, is a testament to improved infrastructure and a commitment to passenger convenience. Preparations for this launch have been finalized, ensuring a smooth commencement of operations that will benefit a wide array of passengers across Jharkhand and surrounding regions. This new route underscores the government's focus on providing accessible and efficient public transportation options, especially for those undertaking spiritual journeys or seeking specialized medical care in distant cities.
Route and Schedule Details
The new Purulia-Anand Vihar train, designated by number 14021, operates on a weekly schedule, designed to offer maximum utility to its passengers. Departing from Purulia every Friday at 5:00 PM, it is scheduled to reach Ranchi by 7:35 PM the same day. The train's extensive route includes a considerable number of key stations, ensuring broad accessibility. These stops encompass Purulia, Muri, Ranchi, Lohardaga, Tori, Barwadih, Daltonganj, Garhwa, Japla, Banaras, Ayodhya, Lucknow, and finally terminating at Anand Vihar in Delhi. On its return journey, the train departs from Anand Vihar, Delhi, every Thursday. This carefully planned itinerary ensures that travelers from various points along the route can conveniently access their destinations. The inclusion of Banaras further enhances its appeal to pilgrims. This well-connected route promises a more comfortable and less time-consuming travel experience for all passengers, whether they are commuting for leisure, business, or essential purposes.
Benefits for Pilgrims and Patients
This new direct train service offers substantial advantages, particularly for pilgrims traveling to Ayodhya Dham and patients seeking medical treatment in Lucknow. For individuals embarking on a spiritual journey to Ayodhya, the direct connectivity eliminates the previous arduous requirement of changing trains multiple times, a process that was not only time-consuming but also physically demanding. This simplification ensures a more peaceful and convenient pilgrimage. Similarly, patients and their families traveling to the esteemed Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGI) in Lucknow will find their journey significantly eased. The direct route reduces the stress and logistical challenges associated with long-distance medical travel, allowing them to focus more on recovery and less on the complexities of transit. This thoughtful provision addresses a critical need for accessible and efficient travel options for those undertaking important personal journeys, highlighting the train's role as more than just transportation but as a facilitator of well-being and spiritual fulfillment.
Initiative and Gratitude
The inception of this vital direct train service stemmed from a proactive request put forth by Palamu MP Vishnu Dayal Ram. He strongly advocated for improved rail connectivity to benefit the residents of Ranchi, Palamu, and the surrounding areas. His persistent efforts recognized the need for more direct and accessible travel options for the populace. Expressing deep gratitude for the approval and implementation of this much-needed service, he extended his thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. The MP emphasized the profound positive impact this new train will have on the daily lives of passengers and the overall development of local communities by fostering better connectivity and accessibility to key urban centers and pilgrimage sites. This initiative underscores the responsiveness of the railway authorities to the specific needs of the region and its inhabitants.
