Introducing RailOne
Indian Railways is ushering in a new era of digital convenience with the introduction of RailOne, a comprehensive application designed to consolidate various
railway services. This strategic move aims to simplify the passenger experience by eliminating the need to navigate multiple platforms for different travel needs. Effective March 1st, the existing UTS app will be phased out, directing all users to the unified RailOne system. This initiative is part of a broader plan to streamline digital offerings and make accessing railway information and booking tickets more intuitive and accessible for everyone, from daily commuters to occasional travelers.
All Services Unified
The new RailOne app is poised to become the central hub for all your railway-related transactions and information needs, effectively ending the fragmented approach that has necessitated the use of several separate applications. Passengers will no longer have to juggle different apps for reserved tickets, unreserved tickets, or general inquiries. RailOne integrates a wide array of functionalities, enabling users to book both reserved and unreserved train tickets with ease. Furthermore, the app will facilitate the purchase of platform tickets, provide real-time updates on train running status, allow for PNR status checks, and offer essential travel updates and general railway information, all within a single, intuitive interface designed for maximum convenience and efficiency.
UTS App Discontinuation
A significant change accompanying the launch of RailOne is the discontinuation of the widely used UTS on Mobile application. This app, which has served as a primary tool for booking unreserved tickets and renewing season passes, will cease to function for any ticketing services from March 1st. Passengers are strongly encouraged to proactively download the RailOne app and familiarize themselves with its features before this deadline. A key piece of information for existing users is that a new account creation will not be necessary; your current UTS app login credentials, including username and password, along with your IRCTC login details, will be valid for access to the new RailOne platform, ensuring a seamless transition.
Digital Payment Discount
To actively encourage passengers to embrace the new RailOne system and promote the adoption of digital payment methods, Indian Railways is implementing an attractive incentive. Until July 14th of this year, passengers booking unreserved tickets through digital payment channels will be eligible for a special 3 percent discount. This offer applies to a variety of digital payment options, including UPI, debit cards, credit cards, net banking, and various digital wallets. This initiative aims to not only drive user adoption of the RailOne app but also to promote the use of secure and convenient digital transactions for railway services across the country, making travel more economical for digitally-minded commuters.
