New Air Route Unveiled
A new era of air travel convenience is dawning for residents of Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad. Starting July 1, direct commercial flights will link
these key cities in western Uttar Pradesh with Chandigarh. This development is a significant stride in enhancing connectivity across northern India and is poised to alleviate the strain on Delhi's already bustling Indira Gandhi International Airport. The introduction of this route underscores the strategic importance of Noida International Airport at Jewar, which is being meticulously developed to serve as a major aviation nexus for the entire National Capital Region. The direct flights are anticipated to drastically cut down the often arduous road journeys passengers currently undertake after landing in Delhi, making travel to and from these Uttar Pradesh districts much more efficient and time-saving.
IndiGo's Daily Schedule
IndiGo, a prominent airline, will spearhead this new service, operating two direct flights each day between Chandigarh and Jewar Airport. The morning service is scheduled to depart from Noida at 6:15 am, arriving in Chandigarh by 7:20 am. The return journey from Chandigarh will commence at 7:40 am, landing back in Noida at 8:45 am. For those requiring an evening option, the second flight will depart Noida at 6:30 pm, reaching Chandigarh at 7:35 pm. The return evening flight is slated to leave Chandigarh at 7:55 pm, with an expected arrival time in Noida of 9:00 pm. Details regarding the opening of ticket bookings will be disseminated through the airline's official booking platforms in the near future, allowing passengers to plan their travels accordingly.
Benefits for NCR Commuters
The inauguration of this direct air link promises substantial advantages for a wide spectrum of travelers, encompassing business professionals, tourists, and regular commuters journeying between Chandigarh and the National Capital Region. Presently, individuals traveling to Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad often have to rely on flights into Delhi, followed by lengthy road transfers. This new service from Jewar Airport is expected to streamline these journeys, particularly during peak traffic times in Delhi and its surrounding areas. Furthermore, this enhanced air connectivity is set to foster stronger business relationships between Punjab, Haryana, and western Uttar Pradesh, facilitating smoother and quicker movement for entrepreneurs, employees, and visitors who frequently traverse these regions, thereby stimulating economic activity.
Jewar Airport's Growing Role
The expansion of operations from the Noida International Airport at Jewar is a key objective, and this new route marks a pivotal moment in that endeavor. The airport is envisioned as a vital alternative aviation gateway for the NCR, designed to address the escalating passenger traffic demands that current facilities are struggling to meet. As commercial flights on more routes gradually commence, aviation activity in the Jewar region is projected to gain considerable momentum in the coming months. The introduction of the Chandigarh route serves as an early indicator of how the new airport is set to transform the daily travel experiences for the populace residing in Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad, offering a much-needed alternative to the conventional travel routes.
