All about Kusum Group
The Kusum Group started in 1994. They were distributors and exported Indian medicines to Ukraine. It is headed by Rajeev Gupta, who is an Indian national.
In 2002, the group stopped its distribution business and started manufacturing medicines under its own brand name. In 2007 they opened plants in India and then in 2009 they opened the Sumy facility in Ukraine. Later they also opened 2 more plants in India.
The group makes almost 50 products, most of which are generic medicines. These are sold mainly in the markets of Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and the Philippines.
During the long years of the Russia-Ukraine war, the Sumy plant remained operational. But now, it has been hit and badly damaged too. It remains to be seen what the company does to recover losses and if they plan to restart production at the facility or not.
