Threats surface post-announcement
The drama unfolded a day after Pawan Singh hyped his Bigg Boss 19 finale appearance on Instagram. He posted, “Bhaijaan ke saath Bigg Boss 19 ke Grand Finale mein humare saath judenge Powerstar Pawan Singh….” Hours before the December 7 event, an unknown caller from a number traced between Bihar and Mumbai warned him not to perform with Salman Khan. The voice allegedly threatened “serious consequences” if he ignored the order, as per reports.
Pawan’s team and work managers also got similar extortion messages demanding hefty sums. Despite the fear, the Bhojpuri hitmaker went ahead, grooving to his track Rajaji with ex-contestant Neelam Giri. Salman Khan even joined the dance, lighting up the finale stage hosted by Colors TV.
Police complaint filed
Shaken but safe, Pawan Singh wasted no time acting. His team filed two written complaints with the Mumbai Police’s Anti-Extortion Cell. Officials confirmed they are tracing the threat sources and boosting the singer’s security, as reported by IANS. Pawan, already under Y-category protection since October per Ministry of Home Affairs orders, met heightened precautions for the event.
This isn’t isolated. The Bishnoi gang has a history of targeting Salman Khan over the 1998 blackbuck poaching case, recently warning comedian Kapil Sharma too. Pawan’s bold move echoes that defiance.
