New Delhi: Farhan Akhtar and Aamir Khan come together after 25 years. If all goes well, we will get to see the two of them in a film on Lala Amarnath to be
directed by Ashutosh Gowariker.
Farhan Akhtar has just returned to Mumbai after the shooting for the Beatles film and has been taking the narration of the film. If sources are to be believed, he will be playing the cricketer friend of Aamir Khan in the film.

Although this film is about cricketers, it is more about friendship and friends, how the two friends ended up on opposite sides of the border and even the cricket team.
Whatever we learn until now, although there is no official confirmation of it. This film will be about the friendship between Lala Amarnath and Fazal Mahmood who played cricket together in Lahore and how they found themselves on opposite after the partition in 1947.
Both of them were to be part of India’s first international cricket tour but partition turned them into rivals. Amarnath captained India while Mahmood led the Pakistan bowling side.
There are certain stories about both Amarnath and Fazal Mahmood getting attacked during the partition riots. Fazal Mahmood wrote in his book from Dusk to Dawn mentioning that CK Nayyadu saved his life while he was travelling on a train after returning from the preparation match. Nayyadu used his cricket bat to save him.
Even Amarnath has an emotional story about leaving his home in Lahore and the cricket bat which he scored his century.
Did you know, it was Raju Hirani who had planned to make the film a few years ago. But now this film will have three production houses involved in both creative and production of the film.

Raju Hirani has shelved the Dadasaheb Phalke film and has cracked the script for 3 Idiots and in most likelihood, Aamir Khan is likely to start the film before starting work on the Lala Amarnath story.
