New Delhi: The Monsoon session of the Parliament started in the national capital on Monday. The government is looking to introduce in the Parliament in the coming
days. While the Monsoon session of the Parliament started today, it will continue till August 13.
During the current session, the Opposition is looking to debate several issues facing the country. Below is the list of a few bills that the government is looking to introduce in the Parliament this session.
Income-tax (Amendment) Bill, 2026: It is among the important bill that the government is looking to introduce this session. Once clear, the bill will replace the Income-tax (Amendment) Ordinance, 2026. The bill focuses on providing tax-related changes. Among the major proposals providing income tax exemptions to foreign institutional investors (FIIs) and the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) on earnings from sales, investments, and sales.
MSME Development (Amendment) Bill, 2026: The bill aims to strengthen the regulatory framework for the MSME sector in the country. The bill also aims to improve the ease of doing business for small enterprises across India. It also proposes the revision of the classification criteria for micro, small, and medium enterprises.
Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026: Through this bill, the government is looking to introduce changes to the framework on donations that companies receive under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act (FCRA), 2010. The Bill was earlier introduced in the Lok Sabha on March 25 and is listed for discussion during the Monsoon Session.
Supreme Court (Number of Judges) Amendment Bill, 2026: This bill seeks to increase the sanctioned number of judges in the Supreme Court of India. The bill aims to address the increasing work pressure of the top court and prevent delay in the disposal of cases.
Viksit Bharat Shiksha Adhishthan Bill, 2025: Through this bill, the government is looking to bring reforms to India’s higher education framework. It is looking to build a unified body for overseeing standards, regulation and accreditation across the sector in India.
