New Delhi: Mirzapur: The Movie is proving that its massive OTT following can translate into theatrical success. The Pankaj Tripathi and Ali Fazal-led film
has crossed the Rs 50 crore mark in India within two days of its release, with Saturday bringing in a bigger haul than its opening day.
The film earned Rs 32 crore on Saturday, according to Sacnilk, taking its India net collection to Rs 57.75 crore. Its India gross collection has reached Rs 69.30 crore. The Hindi version remains the primary contributor, while the Telugu release has added Rs 0.50 crore to the two-day net total.
The second-day jump comes after Mirzapur: The Movie opened with Rs 25.75 crore on Friday. The film recorded a 20.4 per cent rise in its Day 2 collection, underlining the strong response from audiences familiar with the franchise.
Its opening had already put the film ahead of several recent releases, including Saiyaara and Awarapan 2. More importantly, the performance marks an interesting theatrical experiment for an OTT property that has built its audience over three seasons.

Directed by Gurmmeet Singh and written by Puneet Krishna, Mirzapur: The Movie is presented by Amazon MGM Studios and Excel Entertainment. Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar have produced the film under the Excel Entertainment banner, with Kassim Jagmagia and Vishal Ramchandani serving as co-producers.
The film brings back several familiar faces from the series. Pankaj Tripathi returns as Kaleen Bhaiya, Ali Fazal reprises Guddu Pandit and Divyenndu returns as Munna Tripathi. Rasika Dugal and Harshita Gaur are also back as Beena Tripathi and Dimpy Pandit.
The ensemble further includes Shweta Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Sheeba Chadha, Rajesh Tailang, Sushant Singh and Mohit Malik, among others. The big-screen adaptation also expands the franchise’s ensemble with new additions, including Ravi Kishan and Jitendra Kumar.
