She noted that this spirit is captured in the theme of the review — “United Through Oceans” — and sends a positive message that collective naval strength and resolve can overcome global challenges.
The President said India’s approach to international relations, including in the maritime domain, is guided by the ethos of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam — the world is one family. She said global security, growth, sustainability and stability are built through partnerships, and that cooperative action among like-minded partners is essential for a sound maritime order. She added that the Fleet Review advances India’s vision of MAHASAGAR — Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions.
Highlighting the role of the Indian Navy, the President said it remains vigilant in safeguarding India’s maritime interests and contributing to stability across the wider maritime commons. She said naval units act as credible instruments of deterrence and defence against threats at sea and often serve as first responders during humanitarian crises and natural disasters.
She noted that the Indian Navy also plays a key role in promoting goodwill and building trust and friendship with navies around the world.
The President appreciated the officers and sailors from friendly foreign navies participating in the review, saying their discipline, dedication and competence form the foundation of collective maritime security.
