Despite all the new models that are coming, MG Windsor EV has established itself in the market and is a popular choice that everyone considers when moving to EVs. It has a spacious cabin, crossover-like styling and a comfortable driving experience. Its 38 kWh battery delivers 134 hp and has a claimed range of 332 km.
4) Tata Punch EV
We drove the Tata Punch EV, and we found it to be bringing the best of both worlds. It is smart, quick, and it is nimble as a hatchback, and yet comes with the commanding road presence of an SUV. It is spacious and has a decent range, making it great for city drives and for going intercity as well. You get the option of 25 kWh and 40 kWh battery packs.
3) Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara
Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara is the brand’s debut in the electric range with a claimed range of 543 km. It has two battery options, which include 49 kWh and 61 kWh. It can do 10-80 per cent of battery replenishing in 45 minutes. Quite apart from these specs, the e-Vitara offers the sensibility and the reliability of the Maruti brand.

We drove the Tiago EV as well, and it is one of the few small hatchbacks that come with an electric powertrain. The Tiago is really small, and while numbers in terms of performance might be low and it struggles to reach 100 kph, it is fun and makes a perfect companion in a small city. You get a 19.2 kWh or 24 kWh battery pack and a claimed range of 285 km.
