New Delhi: Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana has assembled one of the biggest star casts in Indian cinema, and if recent reports are to be believed, the film’s
leading actors are also among its highest earners. From Ranbir Kapoor and Yash to Sunny Deol and Sai Pallavi, the reported remuneration of the cast has attracted considerable attention.
According to a Times of India report, Ranbir Kapoor, who plays Lord Ram, is the highest-paid actor in the project. He has reportedly been paid Rs 150 crore for the two-part epic, which works out to Rs 75 crore per instalment.
Yash, who essays Ravana, is said to have received Rs 100 crore in total, or Rs 50 crore for each part. The report also claims the actor has a profit-sharing arrangement with the film as one of its co-producers.
Making her Bollywood debut, Sai Pallavi has reportedly charged Rs 12 crore for portraying Sita, with her remuneration said to be split equally between both instalments.
Among the supporting cast, Sunny Deol has reportedly been paid Rs 40 crore to play Lord Hanuman. Meanwhile, Ravie Dubey, who takes on the role of Lakshman, is believed to have received between Rs 2 crore and Rs 4 crore.
The report further states that Lara Dutta has reportedly charged Rs 3 crore to portray Kaikeyi, while Rakul Preet Singh, who is said to be playing Shurpanakha, has an estimated fee of Rs 1-2 crore.
Arun Govil, remembered for portraying Lord Ram in the iconic television series, is reportedly receiving Rs 2.5 crore to play King Dasharatha, although the figure remains unconfirmed.
According to the report, Vivek Oberoi has taken a different route by allegedly waiving his acting fee altogether and choosing to work on the film without remuneration.
