Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted that from April 28 (Tuesday) to May 1 (Friday), isolated places in the capital of Karnataka may witness light to moderate rainfall or thundershowers, along with gusty winds reaching 40–50 kmph.
The rain relief in Bengaluru
The weather is expected to remain partly cloudy from April 25 to April 27 and the temperatures during the day may hover between 35°C and 37°C and the temperatures at night may be around 23°C. There can be moderate humidity levels as per the IMD prediction. The city, from April 28, will experience rain or thundershowers especially during the afternoon or evening.
On Friday, the city observatory recorded a maximum temperature of 35.6 degrees Celsius, which was 1.4 degrees Celsius above normal. While pre-monsoon showers brought some respite to other parts of Karnataka on April 22, Bengaluru remained largely dry and warm.
Orange alert issued for Karnataka districts
The day-time temperature till May 1 is likely to remain around 35°C and it can come down to 23°C at night. The weather department has issued an orange alert for Bagalkot, Belgaum, and Gadag districts with prediction of rainfall, hailstorms, and thunderstorms on April 27.
On April 30, some places in the interior of South Karnataka may witness thunderstorms with gusty winds with speeds of 30–40 kmph. The spell of rain can bring joy to the people of Bengaluru, which has been witnessing a sweltering summer this time. In recent weeks, Bengaluru has been recording above-normal temperatures and heatwaves have made the lives of common people extremely difficulty. Now with rain on the cards according to the IMD prediction, people can now breathe a sigh of relief.
