The Mecca Pact between Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Turkey moved into its implementation phase on Monday, with the three countries agreeing to take immediate

steps towards deploying military forces and capabilities in Saudi Arabia.

The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the Strategic-Political and Defense Committee of the Makkah Alliance for Defense in Riyadh on October 5. The move comes as Saudi Arabia continues to face security threats and attacks in the region, including those linked to the Iran-aligned Houthis.
