Jumanji: Open World trailer teases a real-world adventure
Directed by Jake Kasdan, Jumanji: Open World stars Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Karen Gillan and Nick Jonas. The latest trailer gives audiences a closer look at the film’s central idea, with the game spilling into the real world and creating new challenges for its characters.
The franchise has built its appeal around a mix of humour, high stakes adventures and the chemistry between its lead actors. The new instalment appears ready to carry that spirit forward while introducing a different twist to the familiar premise.
From Robin Williams’ classic to the new Jumanji film
The Jumanji franchise began with the 1995 film starring Robin Williams, which introduced audiences to a mysterious game capable of turning ordinary life upside down. The story returned to cinemas with Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle in 2017, followed by Jumanji: The Next Level in 2019.
Both films featured Johnson, Hart, Black and Gillan and became box-office successes, helping introduce the franchise to a new generation of viewers. Their blend of adventure and comedy also made the ensemble cast a major part of the series’ appeal.
With Jumanji: Open World, the team is set to return to the big screen once again. Sony Pictures Entertainment India will release the film in cinemas across India in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on December 25, 2026.
The Christmas release puts the next chapter of the adventure in the middle of the holiday movie season, giving audiences another chance to join the gang as the game takes an unexpected turn.
