New Delhi: Vijay Deverakonda seems to have found a humorous way to respond to the online chatter surrounding his Koffee With Karan 9 appearance with wife
Rashmika Mandanna. After clips from the episode sparked debate over his behaviour towards Rashmika, Vijay shared a satirical reel that poked fun at how celebrity relationships are dissected on social media.
Instead of directly addressing the criticism, the Ranabaali actor reposted a video in which two content creators jokingly analyse everything from where he sat on the Koffee With Karan couch to why a cup of coffee was placed near him and not Rashmika.
Vijay Deverakonda reacts to ‘red flag’ debate
Vijay Deverakonda appeared to enjoy the parody and shared it on his Instagram Story with a short message, “Needs subtitles. Regional languages lo”. The reel exaggerates the kind of relationship analysis that has followed Vijay and Rashmika’s appearance on Karan Johar’s chat show.
It begins with one of the creators scrutinising Vijay’s choice of seat on the couch. “Did you notice Vijay was sitting on right side of the sofa that means he wants to say he is always right. Girls, this is the red flag you have to stay away from),” she says.
The conversation then turns to something even more ordinary – the coffee placed on the table.
“Coffee is only at the right side of Vijay, not near Rashmika,” the woman says, to which her companion replies, “Maybe she doesn’t drink (coffee).” The woman, however, continues with the mock analysis, saying, “Atleast Vijay should offer her coffee. Maybe she said no and Karan removed it on edit table.”
The creators also joke about Vijay’s comments on marriage. Referring to his interaction with Rashmika, the woman says, “See, Vijay is saying that Rashmika is hurting his feelings? That means he is completely narcissistic, patriarchal and takes a master-slave approach in any approach”.
When the other creator asks her to explain why she has reached that conclusion, she simply responds, “Why do you wanna know, it’s just a red flag”.
Vijay not following Rashmika on Instagram
The parody doesn’t stop with their behaviour on the show. It also takes up another detail that has generated discussion online is that Vijay does not follow Rashmika on Instagram. When the woman points this out, the man turns the question back on her, saying, “Do you follow me, Praveena? I’ve been begging you for days!”
She shoots back, “So, what? Are you calling me a red flag? You’re the real red flag, idiot!”
In fact, Vijay follows nobody on Instagram.
Vijay-Rashmika’s Koffee With Karan appearance
Vijay and Rashmika’s appearance on Koffee With Karan 9 attracted attention after the couple opened up about their relationship, marriage and life together. Several clips from the episode subsequently circulated online, with some social media users describing Vijay’s behaviour as arrogant or disrespectful towards Rashmika. Others questioned whether individual moments from a light-hearted chat show were being overanalysed.

One exchange that particularly caught attention involved Vijay saying Rashmika had asked him “100 times” before he agreed to marry her. According to their conversation on the show, he had asked her to repeat the request over the course of a year before finally saying yes. Karan Johar was also reportedly surprised by the story and Rashmika agreeing to Vijay’s unusual condition.
Vijay and Rashmika married in February 2026 after keeping much of their relationship away from the public eye.
