because of the way they handle pressure in the biggest moments.
Speaking during an interaction with JioHotstar, Deepti said Djokovic‘s biggest strength is his mental toughness. According to her, the Serbian never gives up during difficult situations and always finds a way to fight back, even when the match appears to be slipping away.
She believes Dhoni showed the same qualities throughout his cricket career, making the comparison between the two sporting icons an easy one.
Deepti highlights calmness under pressure
“When you talk about Djokovic, everyone speaks about his mental strength. He is someone who never gives up, no matter how tough the situation is,” Deepti said.
“In cricket, I think MS Dhoni sir is very similar. He is known for being very cool and calm. Whenever pressure situations come, he handles them really well. It never looks like he is in a difficult situation. He handles pressure so easily.”
The India all-rounder added that both athletes have the rare ability to remain composed when everything is on the line, a quality that has helped them build remarkable careers.
“Both Djokovic and Dhoni have that rare quality of staying calm and strong when it matters the most,” she said. “Watching them, we learn how to stay calm and find a way out of tough situations.”
