as authorities are trying to bring the conspirators to book. The National Testing Agency (NTA) recently cancelled the NEET exam over paper leaks, leading to anger and concerns across the country. The exam was held on May 3.
Sharing information over the development, news agency IANS wrote on X, “The Rouse Avenue Court sent five accused in the NEET paper leak case, Mangilal Bival, Vikas Bival, Dinesh Bival, Yash Yadav, and Dhananjay Lokhande, to judicial custody until June 2.”
10 persons arrested so far
Till now, 10 people have been arrested across the country. They have been taken into custody from Jaipur, Delhi, Nasik, Gurugram, Latur, Pune, and Ahilyanagar.On Sunday evening, the CBI arrested Shivraj Motegaonkar in custody from Maharashtra’s Latur. The authorities earlier arrested chemistry lecturer Kulkarni and biology lecturer Manisha Mandhare.
Earlier on Monday, the CBI conducted search operations at the houses of two students in Nagpur. The searches were conducted at their residences in the Central Avenue and Itwari areas. During the search, the authorities found mobile phones, laptops, handwritten notes and other digital devices for forensic examination, news agency PTI reported. The agency suspected that the accused had allegedly received leaked question papers through a network in Pune. As per sources to the agency, the paper was arranged for nearly Rs 15 lakh per candidate.

The exam was conducted across 551 cities and at 14 overseas centres on May 3. It was cancelled amid reports of alleged malpractice on the evening of May 7. Nearly 23 lakh candidates had earlier registered for the test.
