New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has successfully conducted the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2026 session 1 day 1 shift 2 exam today,
January 21. The paper 1 for Bachelor of Technology (BTech) or Bachelor of Engineering (BE) paper 1 shift 2 was held from 3 PM to 6 PM. The JEE Main 2026 session 1 exams are scheduled to be held on January 21, 22, 23, 24, 28, and 29, 2026.
Candidates who had appeared for the JEE Main 2025 shift 2 exam on January 21 said that the question paper was of a moderate level. As per experts, the Mathematics section was tricky compared to Physics and Chemistry.

Physics
The overall difficulty level of the Physics was easy to moderate. The Physics paper was doable and most of the questions were formula-based.
Chemistry
The JEE Mains 2026 shift 2 Chemistry paper was tougher compared to last year. Most of the questions were based on assertion-type.
Mathematics
The Maths section was the toughest. The questions were lengthy and required tricky calculations.
