The latest incident occurred on Mall Road near the GGIC intersection on Tuesday. According to eyewitnesses, three people arrived in a blue‑black vehicle with a Haryana registration number. The occupants of the vehicle were seen throwing garbage onto the road from the moving car.

Local residents, noticing this, politely requested the tourists to use dustbins instead of littering. However, the situation quickly escalated. Two women from the vehicle got out and began arguing with the locals. It is alleged that they pushed and shoved a young man and even threatened to assault him. Witnesses also claim the women tried to intimidate people by saying they were connected to the police department.
A crowd gathered at the spot, but the women continued their aggressive behaviour. Finally, the young man driving the vehicle managed to get the two women back inside and drove away. A video of the entire incident has gone viral on social media, causing widespread anger among Almora residents.

Locals have demanded that the police and district administration identify the vehicle and take strict action against those involved. They also want fines imposed on such tourists to ensure that no one dares to compromise Almora’s cleanliness and social harmony in the future.

Almora Kotwali Inspector Yogesh Upadhyay stated that no written complaint has been received so far. He assured that legal action will be taken if a complaint is filed.
