To prevent chaos and accidents, the police have once again decided to ban the entry of bikes and taxis into the city and temple area during this period.

Superintendent of Police Jagdish Chandra explained that while larger vehicles are usually stopped at entry points on weekends, two-wheelers often slip through, worsening congestion. Bikes moving haphazardly on the steep and crowded roads increase the risk of accidents. Moreover, there is no proper parking arrangement for two-wheelers in Nainital city or near Kainchi Dham, which adds to the disorder. Considering these challenges, the administration has taken strict measures this time.
According to the police order, from Eid until the following weekend, two-wheeled vehicles—whether private bikes or taxis—will not be allowed to enter Nainital or Kainchi Dham. Tourists arriving from outside the district will have to stop their bikes at Kathgodam or Kaladhungi. From there, they can use shuttle services or public transport to reach their destination. This arrangement is expected to reduce traffic pressure and provide smoother movement for pedestrians and larger vehicles.
