New Delhi: New Zealand middle-order batter Daryl Mitchell notched up his second consecutive ODI century in the series decider against India at the Holkar
Stadium in Indore on Sunday, January 18.
Overall, this was Mitchell’s ninth ODI hundred, and his fourth against the Men in Blue. He equalled Nathan Astle’s record for the joint-most by a New Zealand batter in India. He also became the second Kiwi batter with the most ODI hundreds against India, just behind Nathan Astle.
He smashed an unbeaten 131 during the second ODI match in Rajkot, helping the visitors to chase down a 285-run target and level the three-match ODI series 1-1.
The ODI in Indore is the series decider, where the hosts have never lost an ODI game. The Men in Blue have also not lost an ODI series against the Kiwis at home.

Glenn Phillips hits second ODI ton
Glenn Phillips also smashed a century in the third ODI against India. Phillips took 37 balls to score his first boundary, but the batter didn’t lose his calm and batted brilliantly to complete his ton in 83 balls.
