New Delhi: At least 3 schools in Delhi, received bomb threats on Tuesday morning. Following the threats, the school authorities immediately evacuated the premises
and called up the police control room. Eventually the fire services and bomb disposal squad have been called to the spot, said a report in Hindustan Times.
The schools which received the threat were British School, Sanskriti School and Sardar Patel Vidyalaya. The team, including the bomb disposal squad, police and the fire department are carrying out anti-sabotage checks in the schools.
The Police said that they received calls from the 3 schools located in New Delhi district, between 10:30 am to 10:45 am. The threats were received via email and a police team, bomb disposal squad, Delhi Fire Services and dog squads were rushed to the schools.
The school premises were evacuated as a precautionary measure. However nothing suspicious has been found in any of the schools so far, confirmed the police.
The schools also informed parents about the threat. In a message sent to the parents, Sardar Patel Vidyalaya said, “Dear parents, the school has received a security threat. All students have been safely evacuated from the school premises. The police have been informed and are taking the necessary steps.”
The parents said that Tuesday was the first day of the half-yearly examinations, but the bomb threat led to immediate evacuation.
The school meanwhile said that Middle School students had completed their examinations, while the Senior School students had completed most of their examinations. They added that the school authorities would need some time to assess the situation and then decide regarding the remaining Senior School examinations. They said that they would communicate further decisions regarding the exam in some time to the parents.
