New Delhi:Hyundai has just revealed the Ioniq 3, its compact hatchback meant for Europe. Though looking like the Genesis GV60, only sharper, the Ioniq 3 is actually
much smaller than the luxury crossover. It is also the first vehicle landing on the European shore with the automaker’s new Pleos Connect Infotainment system.
The Ioniq 3 comes with Hyundai’s E-GMO 400-volt architecture. It gets a single front motor and no frunk, delivering up to 147 bhp in the Standard Range model, which comes with a 42.2 kWh battery, has a range of 342 km on the European WLTP cycle, and goes from 0-100 kph in 9 seconds.

The long-range model comes with a 61 kWh battery and up to 495 kms in range. It also comes with less power than the standard-range trim, at 135 bhp, and is slower to 0-100 kph, taking 9.6 seconds. Torque is the same on both at 249 Nm of torque, and the top speed is limited to 168 kph.

The Ioniq 3 comes with Hyundai’s new Art of Steel design language, which was recently seen in the brand’s Boulder concept. It comes with a 0.263 drag coefficient and measures 163.6 inches in length, and is 15.3 inches shorter than the GV60. Inside the EV comes the bespoke Pleos Connect Infotainment system. It runs Android Automotive OS and gets either a 12.9-inch or 14.6-inch screen, depending on the variant, which includes an N-Line trim as well.
Even though Hyundai revealed the new Pleos in 2025, without any physical buttons, the Ioniq 3 comes with a row of them beneath the screen. There are switches for heated seats, temperature control, fan speed, HVAC mode and even a knob for volume.

Hyundai have said that the boot comes with 441 litres of boot space with 118 litres in the Megabox, an integrated storage box under the trunk’s false floor. Features also include a Bose premium audio system, dual-zone climate control, and LED ambient lighting. While Hyundai haven’t confirmed if it is headed for India any time soon, it can enter in less ventured part of the market and could be fairly dominate the market, given how Hyundai’s market has been in India.
