New Delhi: Bollywood starAkshay Kumar found himself at the centre of an emotional moment on Thursday (January 15) when he stepped out to cast his vote
in Mumbai during polling across 29 civic bodies in Maharashtra, including the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections. What began as a routine public appearance quickly turned into a scene that is now widely being shared across social media.
Akshay was among the first few celebrities to arrive at the polling booth. As he exited the venue, he paused to address photographers and urged citizens to exercise their democratic right. “This is the day that the remote control lands in our hands. I appeal to all Mumbaikars to vote,” the actor said before heading towards his car.
Fan urges Akshay Kumar to help her father in high debt
That’s when a female fan approached him, visibly distressed and holding a piece of paper. She pleaded for financial help, saying, “Papa bahut bade karze mein hai, unko please bahar nikalo (My father is in a huge debt, please help him get out of it).” The request caught the attention of onlookers and cameras alike.
Instead of brushing past the moment, Akshay stopped and listened. He asked the woman to share her phone number with a member of his team, signalling that he was open to helping her. Overwhelmed, the fan bent down to touch his feet in gratitude. Akshay immediately stopped her, saying, “beta aisa mat kar (don’t do that, child).”
