New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said that he felt lucky to serve the country for such a long time. He added that for him, the people
of the country are the embodiment of god. Addressing theNDA conclave organised to celebrate his tenure as India’s longest democratically elected PM, he said one of the greatest of his government in the last 12 years was that the country has broken free from the vicious cycle imposed by Congress.
Notably, PM Modi took the oath of office on May 26, 2014 for the first time. Since then, he has served the country for three straight terms. On Wednesday, he completed 4,399 days in the office. He has surpassed former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru to achieve the major milestone.
‘Saw a lot of ups and downs in my life’
“After seeing a lot of ups and downs in my life, I never thought that I would one day become Prime Minister of India. I feel lucky to serve the country as the longest democratically elected Prime Minister. This is only possible by the grace of god,” the PM said
He added, “ I have always regarded service as a form of spiritual practice. And this practice has not been solitary; it is a collective yajna, in which all of you have also made your contributions. Today, I express my gratitude to all the companions of this journey.”

“On this occasion, the members of the NDA family have presented a resolution. I view this not as a personal achievement, but as a testament to your generosity and our collective efforts. From every perspective, this accomplishment belongs to all of us—it is equally the achievement of every NDA member. Therefore, I dedicate this resolution to all members of the NDA, including the dedicated BJP karykartas,” The PM said while noting that it was only his milestone.
Hitting out at the Congress, he added, “while previous system system made people wait, today’s system delivers results. One system stalled and derailed work. But today, the work will happen now, on time, and on a massive scale. Because of this, the period from 2014 to 2026 is not just a story of numbers, but the story of India which has decided to run at its full potential”.
