BTS ARIRANG Billboard record: Global K-pop phenomenon BTS has once again rewritten music history. The group’s latest album ARIRANG and its title track
SWIM have simultaneously debuted at No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard 200, marking another record-breaking milestone for the seven-member group.
With this achievement, RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook have become the first group in history to debut both a song and album at the top of the two major Billboard charts on multiple occasions. The feat reinforces BTS’ status as one of the most influential acts in global pop music.
BTS’ ARIRANG and SWIM debut at No.1 on Billboard
The chart results, dated April 4, 2026, confirmed that SWIM debuted at No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 while ARIRANG topped the Billboard 200. The group also secured nine out of ten positions on the Billboard Global 200 chart, tying with Taylor Swift as the only artists to achieve that milestone.

This marks BTS’ seventh No.1 debut on the Hot 100. Previous chart-toppers include Dynamite, Savage Love (Remix), Life Goes On, My Universe, Butter, and Permission to Dance. The group’s earlier chart sweep came in 2020 when Life Goes On and the album BE dominated the charts simultaneously.
Beyond Billboard, BTS also achieved a massive Global All Kill across several music platforms. The album and its tracks reached No.1 on Apple Music Global, Spotify Global, Melon Top 100, YouTube Music, Line Music Japan, Hanteo, Oricon Japan, and Billboard 200. The album reportedly sold 641,000 units in its first week, while Hanteo recorded 3.9 million copies sold.
BTS leader RM thanks ARMYs
Band leader RM responded to the achievement with gratitude. Sharing the Billboard news on Instagram Stories, he wrote, “Sendin my luv and gratitude.”
Fans, known collectively as ARMY, quickly flooded social media with celebratory messages. Many highlighted how the group’s comeback proved critics wrong after their temporary hiatus during military service. One fan wrote online, “They are truly a global group and the biggest group in the world.”
BTS released ARIRANG on March 20, followed by a large-scale comeback concert at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul the next day. All fourteen tracks from the album entered the Spotify Global Weekly chart, each crossing more than 26.4 million streams during its debut week.
BTS World Tour 2026
The momentum is expected to grow even further as the group prepares for its upcoming world tour. The tour will begin on April 9 in Goyang, South Korea, and is scheduled to run until 2027. Spanning 82 dates across 34 cities in 23 countries, it is already being described as one of the biggest global tours ever planned by a music act.
