New Delhi: An Air India flight travelling from Phuket to Delhi experienced a brief but sudden loss of altitude on Tuesday after encountering turbulence
during the journey. The incident took place on flight AI2379 with the aircraft dropping around 300 feet before the crew regained control.
In a statement, Air India said the sudden change in altitude was likely
caused by turbulence or an updraft or downdraft. The airline confirmed that no serious injuries were reported and that the aircraft completed its journey safely. However, a few people suffered minor injuries during the turbulence.
Injured rushed for medical assessment
Air India also said that passengers and crew members who required medical assessment were taken to a medical facility at the airport after landing. The airline has not reported any major damage to the aircraft.
