New Delhi: Team India’s captain Shubman Gill, KL Rahul and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja are all set to play the Vijay Hazare Trophy for their respective
state teams ahead of the three-match ODI series against New Zealand.
According to a Cricbuzz report, all these cricketers have confirmed their availability for the 50-over tournament to honour their mandatory domestic commitments. Gill is expected to feature in the January 3 and 6 matches, as Punjab will take on Sikkim and Goa in Jaipur.
Punjab are placed in Group C along with Mumbai, and they are currently placed in the fourth position with two victories from three games. He will leave the state side after two games to join the Indian team, which will assemble in Baroda on January 7-8 for the first ODI against New Zealand, scheduled to be played on January 11.
All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has informed the Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) that he will feature in the January 6 and 8 matches against Services and Gujarat. Saurashtra are currently playing their league matches in Alur, Karnataka. They have managed to win just one match out of three, and are currently placed in the sixth position in the eight-team group, which also includes Rishabh Pant’s Delhi.
Meanwhile, the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) could not immediately confirm KL Rahul’s availability. But according to the Cricbuzz report, he is also expected to play the January 3 and 6 matches, against Tripura and Rajasthan in Ahmedabad.
Yashasvi Jaiswal has arrived in Jaipur and is expected to play in Mumbai’s clash against Goa on Wednesday, December 31. Jaiswal had to miss the first three games of the tournament after suffering acute gastroenteritis, but the left-handed batter has recovered and may show up for the Goa game.

Virat Kohli could play one more Vijay Hazare Trophy game for Delhi before rejoining the national side for the New Zealand series. According to reports, he is likely to feature against Railways on January 6, 2026.
