New Delhi: Volvo is set to reveal its new electric SUV, the EX60, on January 21, 2026. This will be the first Volvo model to use the brand’s new SPA3 800V
electric platform. The company claims a driving range of up to 810km, though full technical details will be shared at the official unveiling. Volvo has already released teaser images that give a fair idea of how the SUV will look inside and out.
The EX60 will mark an important step in Volvo’s shift towards an all-electric lineup. With the new platform, Volvo is aiming to improve efficiency, charging speeds and overall vehicle performance, while continuing to focus on safety and comfort, which have long been key strengths of the brand.

Volvo has not yet confirmed the exact battery size of the EX60. However, it has confirmed that the SUV is based on its new 800V SPA3 platform. The top-spec all-wheel-drive version is said to offer a WLTP-certified range of up to 810km. This also points towards the possibility of a single-motor, two-wheel-drive version being offered later. The platform supports DC fast charging of up to 400 kW. Volvo claims this can add up to 340km of driving range in just 10 minutes, under ideal conditions. The company has also announced a 10-year warranty on the battery pack.

The EX60 follows Volvo’s familiar design language. It gets the brand’s ‘Thor’s Hammer’ LED daytime running lights along with slim LED headlights. Teaser images also show vertically placed LED fog lamps on both sides of the front bumper. As with most electric vehicles, the grille is expected to be closed, although the Volvo badge can be clearly seen.

From the side, the SUV features camera-based ORVMs, suggesting the presence of a 360-degree camera system. It also rides on dual-tone alloy wheels. A top-view teaser shows a large panoramic glass roof. Earlier, in May 2025, Volvo previewed the rear design using a clay model. This revealed the brand’s signature vertical taillights, a gloss black rear bumper section and a silver skid plate.

Inside, the EX60 will get a large, tablet-style touchscreen infotainment system with built-in climate controls and Google Gemini support. A physical scroll wheel is placed below the screen for easier operation. The SUV will also come with a Bowers & Wilkins sound system.

Other expected features include a digital instrument cluster, multi-zone climate control, wireless phone charging and powered seats with ventilation. Safety remains a key focus for Volvo. The EX60 will introduce multi-adaptive safety belts that adjust based on traffic conditions and passenger data gathered from the vehicle’s sensors. Volvo has not shared any details about an India launch yet. If introduced here, the EX60 is likely to rival electric SUVs such as the Tesla Model Y and BMW iX3.
