Chennai: As vote counting for the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly elections continues, the TVK is leading in 110 seats as of now. Following closely, the AIADMK
is leading in 63 constituencies, while the DMK holds third position with 61 seats. While the majority of opinion polls predicted that the DMK would regain power, only ‘My Axis India’ had forecast that the TVK would form the government. John Arokiasamy, the party’s election strategist, is credited as a pivotal figure behind the TVK’s success.
Educational background & professional career
A native of Andhra Pradesh, John Arokiasamy earned a Master’s degree in English Literature from St. Joseph’s College, Trichy, and a Master’s degree in Business Management from Loyola College, Chennai.
After completing his studies, he worked as a manager at ‘Perfect Relations’ for four years and served as a director at ‘Good Relations India’ for 12 years. In 2017, he founded his own firm, ‘Persona Leadership Advisory Pvt Ltd,’ which he managed until 2021. Subsequently, he established a new firm called ‘JPACPersona’ and has since been actively engaged in the field of election strategy.
Election strategy experience
He served as an advisor to the Shiv Sena during the 2014 Parliamentary elections and the 2017 Mumbai Municipal Corporation elections. Following this, during the 2018 Karnataka Legislative Assembly elections, he worked in collaboration with the advisory team of the incumbent Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah.
Notably, while working for the PMK in 2016, John Arokiasamy crafted the campaign identity for Anbumani—encapsulated by the slogan “Change… Progress… Anbumani”—and guided the party through that election. Similarly, for the 2021 elections, his firm coined the slogan, “This is a revolution of the common people for change.” In this context, he served as the election strategist for the TVK during the current 2026 elections.
