New Delhi: IndiGo cancelled 12 scheduled flight rotations at Birsa Munda Airport in Ranchi on Friday, September 25, after adverse weather disrupted operations,
the airline said. The cancellations affected 24 aircraft movements, comprising 12 arrivals and 12 departures.
The affected services connected Ranchi with Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad and Patna. IndiGo advised passengers travelling to or from Ranchi to check their flight status with the airline before leaving for the airport.
Delhi and Kolkata services
Three Delhi-Ranchi-Delhi rotations scheduled at different times on Friday were cancelled. The airline also cancelled three Kolkata-Ranchi-Kolkata rotations.
Among the affected Kolkata services were flights 6E 7561 and 6E 7562. The cancellations also included flights 6E 6484 and 6E 6799 on the Pune-Ranchi-Bengaluru route.
IndiGo cancelled flights 6E 421 and 6E 398 between Hyderabad and Ranchi. Mumbai-Ranchi services 6E 6087 and 6E 6088 were also affected.
Other routes affected
A Patna-Ranchi-Ahmedabad rotation was among the cancelled services. Flights linking Ranchi with Bengaluru were also affected, leaving passengers on several routes to check for changes to their travel plans.
A flight rotation generally covers an aircraft’s linked arrival and departure services. In this case, the 12 cancelled rotations accounted for 24 scheduled movements at Ranchi airport. Passengers booked on a flight to Ranchi may therefore find that the same aircraft’s onward service from the city has also been cancelled.
Check before travelling
IndiGo attributed the cancellations to weather conditions at Ranchi airport. It asked passengers to remain in touch with the airline for the latest information about their flights.
The airline has not provided a timetable for the affected services to resume. Further schedule changes may depend on the weather and operational conditions. Passengers travelling through Ranchi should confirm the status of their specific flight directly with IndiGo before heading to the airport.
