Vicky Kaushal Dhurandhar 2: Speculation around Vicky Kaushal joining the sequel to Dhurandhar has been put to rest. An insider close to the makers has firmly
denied reports suggesting that the actor would appear in Dhurandhar 2, calling the rumours completely untrue.
“Vicky Kaushal and Uri are no part of Dhurandhar,” a source told News9Live, shutting down claims that his popular military character would cross over into the high-profile sequel. The clarification comes just hours after a report by Mid-Day suggested that the Chhaava actor had already shot for an extended cameo in the upcoming film while juggling schedules with Love and War.
URI and Dhurandhar are NOT related
The denial brings clarity to growing online chatter, especially among fans who speculated about a cinematic crossover between Dhurandhar and Uri: The Surgical Strike, both helmed by filmmaker Aditya Dhar. Given the filmmaker’s association with both projects, the rumours gained traction quickly. However, sources now insist that Dhurandhar 2 will chart its own course without borrowing characters from Uri.
Released in December 2025, Dhurandhar emerged as a major box-office juggernaut. Led by Ranveer Singh, the film shattered records and became the biggest Hindi release of 2025. According to Sacnilk, the film amassed a staggering worldwide gross of Rs 1,283.5 crore by Day 45. Its India net collection stood at Rs 989.9 crore, while overseas markets contributed Rs 293.6 crore. The overwhelming response naturally fuelled anticipation around the sequel, along with speculation about surprise appearances.
The rumours also leaned heavily on Vicky’s enduring popularity as Major Vihaan Shergill from Uri: The Surgical Strike. Released in 2019, the military action drama depicted the Indian Army’s 2016 surgical strikes and earned widespread acclaim. Vicky’s performance was hailed for its physical intensity, controlled emotions and commanding presence. The film, which also starred Yami Gautam, became a cultural moment and remains one of the most celebrated patriotic films in recent years.
Dhurandhar 2 release date
Despite the excitement such a crossover might have generated, sources maintain that Dhurandhar 2 will not feature Vicky Kaushal or his Uri character in any capacity. Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge is slated to release on March 19 and will clash with Yash’s pan-India release, Toxic.
