Pune: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar died after an aircraft carrying him crashed in Pune district on Wednesday morning. Four other persons
were also killed in the plane crash incident. The unfortunate incident occurred when the plane carrying Pawar and others landed near Baramati. The plane crashed at 8:50 am today.
According to the data available of Flight Radar, the ill-fated flight took off with five people on board, including Pawar, from Mumbai at 8.10 am and it disappeared from radar around 8.45 am. Pawar was en route to to Baramati from Mumbai to address public meetings as part of the campaign for the February 5 zilla parishad elections in the state.

According to the affidavit submitted by Pawar during the 2024 Maharashtra assembly election, his assets had significantly soared in the last five years. Ajit Pawar and his wife Sunetra Pawar own a large number of immovable and movable assets.

The Pawar couple have investments in banks. As pr the details mentioned in the affidavit, Ajit Pawar had Rs 7,2000 in cash and Rs 3,96,593 in bank deposits. While his wife Sunetra Pawar possessed Rs 6,65,400 in cash and around Rs 3 crore and 70 lakh in various bank accounts.
Ajit Pawar’s invested heavily in shares. He possessed shares worth around Rs 85 million of various companies in his name. Ajit Pawar also invested Rs 1079 million (211,150) in life insurance and postal schemes. Sunetra Pawar’s deposits in insurance schemes stood at Rs 442,90,463.
The affidavit mentioned that 41.50 kg of silver in the form of idols and utensils were in the name of Ajit Pawar. While Sunetra Pawar had 1.30 kg of gold, 35 kg of silver and 28 carat diamonds.

The car collection of Ajit Pawar inlcuded 1 Toyota Camry, 1 Honda CRV. He also had 1 tractor and 3 trailers. Ajit Pawar’s real estate assets increased by Rs 10 crores, the election affidavit submitted by the late veteran politician from Maharashtra.
Notably, the affidavit read that Sunetra Pawar had given loans worth lakhs of rupees to her husband Ajit Pawar, sister-in-law Supriya Sule and mother-in-law Pratibha Pawar.
