Chennai: Following his party’s historic victory in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly elections, TVK leader C Joseph Vijay has meticulously planned his cabinet.
According to information obtained from reliable sources, Vijay has selected a diverse team comprising both senior leaders and loyal administrators. He has currently dispatched a letter to the Governor formally staking his claim to form the government.
From Bussy Anand to actor Srinath: The likely faces in Vijay’s cabinet
Bussy Anand: It is reported that Bussy Anand—who has served as the party’s General Secretary and as Vijay’s right-hand man—is set to be allocated a pivotal portfolio within the cabinet. Given his instrumental role in strengthening the party’s organizational structure, he is likely to be entrusted with key departments such as Home Affairs or Public Works.
Sengottaiyan: The experienced veteran leader who left the AIADMK to join the TVK may be tasked with overseeing the Education or Agriculture departments. His extensive political experience is expected to lend significant strength to the new administration.
Adhav Arjuna: An expert in formulating election strategies, Adhav Arjuna is expected to be assigned crucial responsibilities, potentially involving key portfolios such as Industries or Finance.
CTR Nirmal Kumar and Arun Raj: Distinguished for their expertise in the technology and media sectors, these individuals are highly likely to be allocated departments such as Information Technology or Communications.
Opportunities for the younger generation and loyalists
In addition to the aforementioned figures, opportunities within the cabinet are also being extended to individuals who have journeyed alongside Vijay since the party’s inception, as well as to talented members of the younger generation. Names such as Sathyabama, Dr. Prabhu, Madurai Kallanai, actor Srinath, Farwas, Tahira, Rajmohan, ECR Saravanan, and Vijay Saravanan are currently doing the rounds as potential candidates for the cabinet list. Shattering the bipolar political landscape that had prevailed for several decades, the TVK has ascended to the throne of Tamil Nadu, securing victory in 108 constituencies. While Vijay won in both constituencies he contested, he is required by law to resign from one, leaving the TVK poised to form the government with a legislative strength of 107 members.
The DMK has been relegated to the opposition benches after securing 73 seats, while the AIADMK captured 53 seats. As Vijay prepares to form a minority government with 107 seats, the question on everyone’s minds is what changes he will bring regarding the people’s fundamental needs—education, healthcare, employment, and state rights.
