New Delhi: Actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut sparked massive backlash over her crass comments on Gen Z protesters at the Cockroach Janta Party-led protest in
Delhi, demanding accountability for irregularities in the education system and resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET paper leak issue.
Now, she has hit back at the people and media who criticised her for her controversial remarks. Taking to Instagram, she said that she does not support “gutter-level, unethical and obscene behaviour” being displayed publicly.
Kangana Ranaut hits back over her Gen Z remark controversy
In a new video on Instagram, Kangana Ranaut addressed the controversy that sparked after she called Gen Z protesters “Generation Gutter”. She even accused the media of “ganging up” against her for calling out what she described as inappropriate acts by protesters.
“I have refused to normalise the behaviour of some protesters who were displaying gutter-level, unethical, obscene behaviour on the streets in front of children, elderly people and women,” she said.
She added that society should not accept such actions, saying, “We do not want anyone to sexualise the children in our homes before their time through such obscene acts.”
“Staying disciplined or maintaining dignity is not a choice. If you want to live in society and follow the Constitution, you will have to do that. Your freedom ends where my nose and ears begin,” she said, adding that people should be mindful of others’ sentiments and beliefs.
“So, you can be vulgar only inside your room. But when you come outside, you cannot hurt my sentiments. Whether you have no feelings for my deities, my parents, or the children in my home, that does not mean you will use sexual abuses on the streets and harm their dignity,” she added.

“My deities are my Gods, whether they are my leaders or my Gods. For people, the Prime Minister is called an exam buddy. Many people’s emotions are attached to him. Some consider him a leader, some consider him a friend, some consider him a family member, and some consider him God. In the same way, you cannot hurt someone’s feelings, she said.
She said, “We feel embarrassed in front of our elders at home; we do not accept such behaviour and we will not allow it to be normalised. So, the media is ganging up against me and will not tell people how I have appreciated startups like Skyroot.”
“This is not about being cool. This is basic civic sense, and if you do not understand this, you will have to learn it. Do not get influenced by these femi-nazis. Do not ruin your life,” she continued.
She went on to say, “You can display this vulgarity only inside your room. Outside, you will have to maintain dignity, otherwise you will be removed from your workplace. Even your family members will not tolerate vulgarity, and then your life will be left with nothing but a dead end and darkness ahead.”
She then defended Gen Zs, “How our country’s Gen-Z is taking us to such great heights. I personally congratulated NEET students and children who are taking up responsibilities for their families. We have such children in our team as well. We also have Gen-Z brothers and sisters in our families and relatives who are doing great work.”
“But for a few followers, a few comments and some likes, these media people have become so sold out. And I am seeing that some feminists, whether they are anchors or entire bulletins, are telling me, “Kangana, why should these women have the burden of dignity or discipline? We millennials had so much pressure to be dignified and disciplined. Why do we have to give this burden to this generation?,” she added.
Kangana also took a swipe at feminists who criticised her comments, accusing them of encouraging “animalistic tendencies”. She urged young people to focus on “evolution” instead of regression.
She said, “If we look at it, science also says that the purpose of human life is evolution, and scriptures also say that you should move towards becoming Purushottam, the best among men, through that evolution. But these femi-nazis are teaching you to become animalistic and are putting a leash around your neck, telling you to become an animal.”
She added, “They are teaching you to display animal tendencies and become completely out of control, become vulgar, so that you end up in jail. You have to decide who is guiding you properly and who is showing you the right direction. I will only say what I have learnt from my elders and the knowledge that my gurus have given me: this life that we have received is meant for evolution; it is not meant for regression into animalistic tendencies.”
“So, please evolve and wishing everyone a very Happy Guru Purnima,” she concluded.

In a strong-worded post, Kangana Ranaut wrote on Instagram, “Never in my life have I seen so much ugliness in one place. These reels from Gen Z protests are puke-inducing. The way they speak and the kind of language they are using… Never in my life have I seen everything in each and every frame so jarring and so crass all at once. Ewwww. Who is birthing and raising them? India is a place of diversely beautiful people, draped in elegance and rooted in cultural sophistication. [Meanwhile] you call yourself cockroaches and look/behave like them as well.”
They proudly flaunt their freedom to have drugs, drinks and shamelessly live off their parents’ earnings. I call them Generation Gutter. Some of them have nothing to offer to the system. They are not good at studies. They are so ugly and corrupt that they can’t even be homemakers.”
