New Delhi: India opener Abhishek Sharma remains the No.1 T20I batter, while Ishan Kishan made a massive jump in the ICC Rankings after a stellar performance
in the five-match series against New Zealand.
The Indian opener lost a few rating points after scoring a duck in the fourth T20I, but is still comfortably placed in the first position of the rankings. He has 917 rating points, and is 83 points ahead of the second-placed England’s Phil Salt. Abhishek scored 182 runs in the five matches at a strike rate of 249.32.
Tilak Varma dropped to fourth spot in the latest rankings after missing the T20I series against New Zealand after undergoing lower abdominal surgery last month. He is fit for the upcoming T20 World Cup and is expected to join the squad after proving his match fitness in the warm-up match against the USA.
Suryakumar Yadav also returned to his form just before the World Cup, which helped him to gain places in the rankings. Suryakumar has moved to sixth spot with 728 rating points, Pakistan batter Sahibzada Farhan has dropped two places to seventh in the rankings. The Indian T20I skipper finished the five-match series against New Zealand as the leading run-getter, scoring 242 runs at a strike rate of 196.75.
Meanwhile, Ishan Kishan jumped 32 places in the ICC T20I rankings for batters after a sensational series against the Kiwis. He is now in the 32nd place after hitting a brilliant ton off 42 deliveries in the fifth T20I against New Zealand, helping India to set a massive 272-run target in the 20 overs.
Saim Ayub replaces Sikandar Raza as top T20I all-rounder, Bumrah drops spots
Pakistan opener Saim Ayub has regained the No.1 spot in the T20I all-rounder rankings after a brilliant performance in the home series against Australia. Ayub returned to the top of the T20I Rankings after Pakistan’s 3-0 clean sweep, replacing Zimbabwe veteran Sikandar Raza. He scored 119 runs and took three wickets in the series.
Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed gained two places and moved to second in the list for T20I bowlers. He is now just 28 rating points behind No. 1-ranked Varun Chakravarthy after picking up six wickets across three matches against the Aussies.
India’s pacer Jasprit Bumrah has dropped two places in the latest rankings after taking just 4 wickets in the New Zealand series. He moved to the 15th position, while Arshdeep Singh has gained two spots after picking up a five-wicket haul in the fifth T20I against New Zealand.
