New Delhi: After music director Pritam decided to take a break from work, the makers of the magnum opus The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji starring
Rishab Shetty have roped inAmit Trivedi as the music producer for the historical film.
The composer, who was originally set to compose music for the film, announced his decision to take a break in a birthday post on Instagram last month. Pritam revealed that he wanted to “live life differently” and explore roads “unexplored”.

A source close to the production shared, “The team firmly believes Amit Trivedi is the perfect creative force to bring this epic to life musically. His ability to blend powerful orchestration with deeply rooted Indian melodies, combined with Prasoon Joshi’s powerful writing, makes for an exceptional creative partnership. The music has to reflect the courage, vision, emotion and legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, and we are confident this soundtrack will become one of the defining highlights of the film.”
Headlined by Rishab Shetty, the two-part historical saga will have lyrics by Prasoon Joshi.
This will be Amit Trivedi’s first historical drama to be produced and directed by Sandeep Singh. The film is being mounted on a mega budget and will have Rishabh Shetty playing Shivaji Maharaj.
The film also stars Arjun Rampal, Vivek Oberoi, and an ensemble cast. The magnum opus is scheduled to go on the floors later this year.

In his birthday note, Pritam thanked fans for their wishes and announced, “Thankyou for all the wishes. Can’t answer everyone individually, but please accept my sincere gratitude. Today, I have decided to gift myself a few years to live life differently, to catch up on what I’ve missed.”
He further added, ” Time to set off on new journeys, which have been kept on the back burner for long. Mainstream is a great ride, but I’ve always been more curious about the roads unexplored. Thank you for all the love and support, always.”
